Michele A. Marek, DNP, APRN, ANP-BC
Michele A. Marek, APRN DNP - I am a registered nurse with over 35 years of clinical nursing experience, holding both a Master’s Degree as an Adult Nurse Practitioner and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree. As a nursing professional I have worked in several settings including the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Yale New Haven Hospital, various Long-Term Care facilities as both an R.N. and later an APRN and nurse educator, and for the last 25 years a Primary care Adult Nurse Practitioner. I also currently work several hours a week in a weight loss clinic based on Cognitive Behavioral Treatment (CBT). I have utilized CBT throughout my career, especially in the Primary care setting where I treat depression, anxiety, and fatigue daily, as well as addiction to food, alcohol and drugs. I have long recognized the role of identifying and treating mental health issues as paramount to enhancing overall positive health outcomes, and the lack of resources to address this issue. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based treatment that has been used to effect positive outcomes in a variety of conditions, and throughout my nursing career I have participated in various self-directed training opportunities through NPACE, Medical conferences and on-line education to become skilled at integrating CBT into my work in primary care.

Recognizing the need to better address the issue of depression in primary care, as a doctoral student I spent three years working on my Capstone Project entitled “Using Mobile Health to Improve Mild Depression Outcomes in Adult Primary Care” where as part of my project I extensively researched Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and integrated the NIH studied mobile
app “IntelliCare” developed by Dr. David Mohr to patients in my practice as part of their treatment for depression with favorable results. My project was selected for Poster Presentation at the 2019 ENRS Conference in RI where I had the opportunity to explain my work to colleagues. I continue to integrate CBT into my daily work as an APRN. I have been involved in teaching nursing both to LPN students in the classroom and clinical setting for six years and have been a mentor for Nurse Practitioner students from a diversity of backgrounds where I emphasize the need to use CBT in patient care. In summary my background in nursing and patient care has allowed me to gain expert understanding of the importance of education, health care policy, collaborative care and the proper training of nurses in contributing to evidenced-based, patient-centered, and accessible care.
Tara Moseni, DNP PMHNP-BC, APRN
Tara is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who recently completed the University of Massachusetts’s Doctorate Program with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Role Concentration. She has an extensive background working as a nurse in an inpatient hospital setting ages 5-17 on a Child & Adolescent Psychiatric unit. Her specialties include addressing underlying trauma and stressors that catalyzes anxiety, depression, addiction, and disordered eating in addition to diagnoses such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder. Despite her experience working with all ages across the lifespan, her passion is working with children and adolescents as it has been a joy to be able to track this resilient population’s progress and see how much a child can thrive and succeed in comparison to their baseline when they were first evaluated. In addition to her clinical experience, she has served as a psychiatric nursing clinical instructor. Tara offers a holistic approach and therapeutic care to her client’s mental health needs and ensures a judgment free environment.
